Stanford Properties Group acquires minority ownership interest in Italian football club from principal owner and operator North Sixth Group. Stanford Properties Group (“SPG”), based in Montreal, Canada, and led by its Founder and President Angelo Pastò, has acquired a minority ownership interest in Italian Soccer Club U.S. Campobasso (“Campobasso”) from North Sixth Group, LLC (“North Sixth Group”) led by Chairman Matt Rizzetta. Based in the Molise region of Italy, Campobasso is the most successful and important club in the region. Campobasso plays their homes games in a 25,000-seat stadium, and currently compete in the fifth division of Italian Soccer after competing in the third tier until 2022. The new ownership group, led by North Sixth Group and now Pastò, have developed an aggressive project to achieve promotion to higher divisions beginning this season.
Angelo Pastò was born in the town of Ururi, Molise, an hour from Campobasso. He immigrated to Canada with his parents and brother when he was just a few months old and identifies himself as a proud Molisano. Angelo has been in the real-estate field for the over 30 years and developed SPG into an important player in Canadian real estate development market. With this investment, SPG is confident they will be a strategic partner to North Sixth Group, with the aim of growing Campobasso’s presence in the Canadian market, which boasts the highest concentration of Molisani expats than any country in the world.
