America didn’t just welcome a football club—it opened the doors of Disney to Campobasso FC. At 7 Hudson Square in Manhattan, the beating heart of global entertainment, an unprecedented premiere took center stage, rewriting the rules of how sport, storytelling, and identity come together.
The Disney-ESPN red carpet—usually reserved for major international productions—turned red and blue for the debut of Running with the Wolves. More than just a docuseries, it’s a manifesto. A cultural plot twist. Conceived by Mark Consuelos and Matt Rizzetta, the series was born from a bold vision: to tell the story of football not as business, but as belonging, redemption, and raw human grit. And to do that, they didn’t choose Hollywood—they chose Campobasso.
Under the lights of Manhattan, Disney executives, ESPN producers, and figures from the world of sports witnessed the birth of an unidentified narrative object: a Serie C club from Molise speaking with a universal voice, breaking into the programming of one of the world’s largest media networks.
No clichés. No provincial nostalgia. Just the raw truth of a project that has endured, fought, and dreamed. Several members of the Campobasso FC ownership group were also present, bearing witness to a moment destined to make history.

Visibly moved, Matt Rizzetta expressed his gratitude: “Kelly, Mark, and everyone who poured their soul, time, and heart into making real what once seemed impossible. And Debra O’Connell, President of Disney Entertainment Networks, for truly believing that Campobasso’s story was worth telling to the whole world.”
He continued: “It’s hard to put this night into words. After years of sacrifice, seeing that jersey on screen—here in New York, among the giants of global entertainment—is beyond anything I can describe. But we owed this to our people. To a fanbase that stood tall when everything else was collapsing. To a city that never stopped believing. This series is our way of giving back—visibility, respect, and pride.”

On July 29, Running with the Wolves will premiere on ESPN in prime time. And from that moment on, Campobasso will no longer be a name known to just a few. It will be on everyone’s lips. Because what’s born from real resistance isn’t just a good story—it’s a message. A statement. An example.
A club that wasn’t supposed to exist, and yet it does. That wasn’t supposed to matter, and yet it breaks through. The Wolf made it all the way to America. And it didn’t just arrive—it burst in. With heart, with skin, with truth.
